Districts Try Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Teacher Training
There's a short piece of mine in this month's Scholastic Administrator about district-run teacher training programs, which I call "a new middle road between traditional university-based programs and fast-track alternative certification."
Some of you may recall that I've posted about them before (Does district-run teacher prep make a difference?). I still don't know, but writing this article gave me a chance to find out that this is not an easy thing to pull off and there are a handful of them in places like Denver, Chattanooga, and Chicago as well as Boston.
