Five Things About the Education Budget

The five things to remember about the President's budget proposal are (a) the vast majority of the small education programs slated for elimination will be restored by Congress, as always in the past, (b) everybody in Washington knows this, (c) the vast majority of the President's proposals (including the science and math initiative) will not make it through Congress, in part because no one's found any money for them, (d) everybody in Washington knows this, and (e) the long-runnning accusation that NCLB was not getting funding increases is now finally true.
