Claude Allen, We Hardly Knew You

I'm not sure it really matters who's in the DPC during anyone's second term, but for a year now I've been wondering idly just who it was who had replaced Margaret Spellings in that spot.

And now -- just as he's leaving -- I find out. It's Claude Allen, apparently the highest-ranking African American official in the White House, as well as a past target of liberal groups for his conservative views. For the past year, he's apparently been filling in on education issues, whatever that means. And he's just quit.
