"Use The Wheel," Microsoft Tells Philly
Thanks to eagle-eyed Howie Shaffer at PEN for pointing me to what seems like the most ridiculous news of the week -- a report at eSchoolNews that Microsoft (not to be confused with Gates) has convinced folks in Philly to use this wheel to help make hiring decisions (School of the Future debuts free HR tool).

What am I missing? The wheel is a visualization for a competency-based approach to hiring and professional development. Why do you think this is ridiculous?
Hmmm. The Competency Wheel seems like a very useful tool for finally documenting the qualities we want in our school leaders and holding them accountable. Why is this ridiculous?
