Richer, Whiter States Got Better NCLB Deals from USDE

The criticism of the USDE for cutting deals with states over the past year in particular is familiar to most. The notion that different states got different deals based on clout and class is probably not so familiar -- but not so hard to believe, either. This latest study looks at the deals each state has made, and concludes that they not only make for a confusion picture of student achievement and accountability but also favor richer, whiter states.
