Towards Better Education Journalism

I'm heading to New Orleans Thursday afternoon for the Education Writers Assocation's annual conference, where I'm looking forward to a number of the panels (and happily anticipating participating in a panel on education blogs). The agenda in PDF is here: 2006 AGENDA

Most of all, however, I'm looking forwards to learning more about what it might take for education journalism to improve -- a topic about which I'm deeply interested and somewhat concerned. As I've said before, the education writing I admire most is often not written by education writers, and that doesn't seem right.

It's at the same time as yours on blogging. Education Week does an especially craptastic job at evaluating education research for their readers.
