The Business Of Education: Publishing & Testing Giant Company Buys Troubled Competitor
If you need any more evidence that business is good for the school improvement industry – and that federal antitrust regulators might want to come back from their extended lunch break -- check out last week’s announcement that testing and publishing giant Pearson has bought not one but two major SIS companies within the span of just a few days: Pearson buys Chancery Software (eSchool News). Readers may recall that this isn’t Pearson’s only shopping spree of late. Earlier this spring, the company shrugged off the SAT snafu and entered the teacher testing market with the purchase of NES.
