What You Missed At Today's NCLB Hearing: Not Much.

Today's topic was "How well are students with disabilties and limited english proficiency progressing under NCLB?"

If you think about it, it's a strange -- though frequent -- combination of issues. And indeed, in Rep. Miller's opening statement he asked McKeon for two separate hearings.

However, the consensus of the witnesses seemed to be that NCLB has allowed for incredible progress for both disabled students and ELL students and to "Stay the Course." Many witnesses and Rep. Miller also pointed out that disabled and ELL students are often unfairly blamed for a school not making AYP.

Most of the recommendations made were -- big surprise -- complimentary to the current law.

UPDATE: Here's the press release.
