How The EduSphere Is Supposed To Work -- I Think

Once again, the Education Wonks do us all a real service by laying out the latest (if not the most important) back and forth between a trio of education blogs on the topic of union contract transparency: More Hot Multi-Blog Action!

Kudos to the Wonks for their effort, and to the bloggers for engaging with each other. (No word from Schools Matter, by the way.) Still, there's got to be a better way than three blogs going at it needing a fourth to sort it all out for us.

Oh yes, it's called a comments section. That's the thing that nearly everyone has. That's the thing that makes it a blog. Here's how it's supposed to work: Whoever makes the initial controversial or noteworthy or objectionable post is rewarded by getting to be the home base for the discussion (and and probably getting the lion's share of the page views). Others who want to comment do so, in the comments section, with all the links they want (including back to their own sites). The whole thing ends up looking like a long email conversation. All in one place.

Feel free to comment below.

If you ever get within 15 feet of me again, I will rip your head off your shoulders and shove it up your ass.
